Kubernetes on Edge Day
1. The Immutable Lightness of an Edge Platform - William Rizzo, Mirantis & Mauro Morales, Spectro Cloud
Monday November 10, 2025 9:10am - 9:35am EST
Edge platforms are remote, resource-constrained, and mission-critical—making them ideal candidates for an immutable architecture. Edge environments demand resilience, security, and operational simplicity. This talk reimagines Kubernetes at the edge through a radical embrace of immutability, exploring how purpose-built, read-only operating systems, ephemeral workloads, and stateless infrastructure can transform the edge from a liability into a strength.
Inspired by Kundera’s existential lens, we’ll explore the philosophical and practical implications of immutability at the edge, using CNCF projects like k0s, Kairos, and Cluster API. We’ll architect a platform where every layer—from firmware to containers—is reproducible and replaceable, not mutable.
We'll see how immutable builds can reduce attack surfaces, simplify updates, and achieve true zero-touch provisioning.
Join us to challenge the status quo—and embrace the lightness of being immutable.

2. Securing the Edge: Multi-Cluster Governance With Kyverno on k0rdent’s Fleets - Dolis Sharma, Nirmata & Prashant Ramhit, Mirantis
Monday November 10, 2025 11:50am - 12:15pm EST
As organizations scale AI workloads and applications across edge environments, enforcing consistent governance and security policies becomes increasingly challenging. This session introduces a practical approach to scalable policy enforcement across fleets of Kubernetes clusters using Kyverno and k0rdent, with k0s as the lightweight Kubernetes distribution powering edge nodes.
The session covers fleet-wide governance strategies, including dynamic resource allocation (DRA) for GPUs, policy automation in disconnected or constrained environments, and real-world patterns for enforcing compliance in the field.
Through demos and architecture walk-throughs, this session provides actionable insights for those deploying Kubernetes at the edge, particularly in industries like telco, manufacturing, and smart infrastructure. We will also share patterns for integrating policy-as-code workflows and automating Kyverno validation via CI/CD or offline pipelines.

Cloud Native University
Introduction to Cluster API - Jussi Nummelin, Mirantis
Monday November 10, 2025 9:55am - 10:20am EST
Building B | Level 2 | B213-214
Kubernetes Cluster API (CAPI) has emerged as the standard for declarative, GitOps-driven management of Kubernetes clusters. In this session, we will peel back the layers of the CAPI to reveal how its core controllers, webhooks and CRDs work together to reconcile your desired cluster state. You’ll discover how Machine and Infrastructure Providers translate high-level specifications into real infrastructure—whether on AWS, Azure, vSphere or even bare-metal. We’ll examine the mechanisms that enable automated cluster creation, scaling and rolling upgrades, and explore health-checking machines so that failures are detected and remediated automatically. By the end of the session, you will understand why Cluster API is far more than a collection of CRDs, and you will leave with concrete examples and code snippets ready to integrate into your CI/CD pipelines, empowering you to manage production-grade clusters with confidence and precision.
OpenFeature Summit
Doctor Flag: Into the Kubernetes Featureverse with k0rdent and OpenFeature - Prithvi Raj, Mirantis
Monday November 10, 2025 1:35pm - 2:00pm EST
Building B | Level 2 | B213-214
In the modern cloud-native platform building era, the complexities are infinite. Building features is easier than managing them in production across clusters, environments, and teams. This talk aims to highlight pain points where the real complexity begins while building features using OpenFeature in a multi-cluster, multi-cloud environment managed by open source k0rdent
We'll explore how platform engineers can manage feature lifecycle across the Kubernetes multiverse, from progressive rollouts to flag-based experimentation using OpenFeature as the control layer and k0rdent as the policy, observability, and automation backbone. We’ll emphasise on designing GitOps-friendly feature flag workflows using OpenFeature and enforce policy-driven feature rollout gates with k0rdent.
Come observe flag impact across clusters using k0rdent’s telemetry and enable safe, self-service feature toggling for developers in distributed teams.
WasmCon
Monday November 10, 2025 2:40pm - 2:50pm EST
Building B | Level 5 | Thomas Murphy Ballroom 4
This session explores deploying ONNX machine learning models via WebAssembly on lightweight k0s Kubernetes clusters—enabling fast, secure AI inference in resource-constrained environments. The talk demonstrates running pre-trained models from frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow through ONNX, executed inside WebAssembly’s sandboxed runtime on minimal Kubernetes.
Topics include:
– ONNX Runtime with WebAssembly on k0s
– Using WASI to access and run models
– Optimizing performance for Wasm-based inference
– Model loading, caching, and scaling strategies
– CI/CD integration for Wasm ML pipelines
Attendees will see real-world benchmarks comparing Wasm-based vs. containerized inference, focusing on latency, memory usage, cold start, and throughput. This approach reduces infrastructure cost, improves isolation, and unlocks edge AI use cases where traditional containers fall short.

Platform Engineering Day
Monday November 10, 2025 3:20pm - 3:45pm EST
Building B | Level 5 | Thomas Murphy Ballroom 1
The stakes for security, consistency, and control are higher than ever as building platforms takes center stage in cloud-native organizations. When a developer platform spans multiple clusters, clouds, and teams, policy enforcement and operational resilience become existential, not optional. Yet, ensuring compliance, stability, and self-service at scale remains one of the hardest challenges for platform teams.
In this session, we’ll dive into how Kyverno enables declarative governance and automation across environments without complex admission webhooks or YAML gymnastics when paired with k0rdent, a multi-cluster container platform built for distributed Kubernetes operations.
We’ll walk through real-world use cases where Kyverno and k0rdent combine to power secure developer self-service, enforce platform standards, support AI/ML workloads, and reduce operational toil. This is platform engineering done right, resilient by default, policy-driven by design, and open source at its core.
ArgoCon
Monday November 10, 2025 5:15pm - 5:25pm EST
Building B | Level 3 | B312-313a
As GitOps adoption rises in popularity, the needs of engineering teams have outgrown simple single-repository deployments. Instead, teams are favoring more complex, production-ready architectures that span multiple repos. Why make the switch? Would one repo be best or multiple?
In this session, I’ll explore practical strategies for managing Argo CD apps sourced from not one, but multiple git repositories. You’ll learn how to structure repos for separation of concerns, explore using ApplicationSets and the App of Apps pattern with multiple repos, and apply security best practices. I’ll walk through real-world use cases and challenges that come with a multi-repo structure, including handling dependencies and giving your teams autonomy, without sacrificing security.
Whether you’re a platform engineer scaling GitOps in the enterprise or a dev looking to make your infrastructure modular, this talk will educate you on the patterns and pitfalls of using multiple repos for your Argo CD app.
