Mirantis Named a Challenger in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management

Analyst firm acknowledges Mirantis for ability to execute and completeness of vision
2025 is shaping up to be a breakout year for Mirantis. As cloud-native infrastructure evolves to meet the rising demands of AI, data, and scale, Gartner has recognized Mirantis as a Challenger in the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Container Management. Mirantis is well-positioned among Challengers, which we feel reflects what we see as growing momentum behind our AI-focused platform strategy.
A Challenger on the Move
We’ve built k0rdent, a composable Kubernetes management platform, for the next generation of infrastructure challenges, including converged multi-cloud/multi-cluster operations (Mirantis k0rdent Enterprise) and AI workload delivery (Mirantis k0rdent AI). Mirantis k0rdent AI now offers GPU-aware orchestration, secure and reproducible pipelines, compliance and data sovereignty controls, and native support for AI inference and training. This is in addition to features brought to the table by Mirantis k0rdent Enterprise, including declarative composability, hard multi-tenancy, drift correction, built-in logging / monitoring / alerting and observability, and workload convergence: the ability to host VMs and container workloads on a single Kubernetes fabric. All powered by a fast-growing catalog and partner ecosystem (see https://catalog.k0rdent.io) and consuming innovation from the upstream open source k0rdent project.
Cloud service providers are now using Mirantis k0rdent AI to launch what some are calling ‘Neoclouds’: AI-optimized, multi-tenant platforms that accelerate time-to-revenue and fully monetize GPU capacity. Enterprises use the platform to build internal AI factories that deliver faster innovation with centralized governance. Mirantis k0rdent AI supports GPU infrastructure from vendors including NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel, and also enables workload convergence, running VMs and containers side-by-side on shared infrastructure. The same platform powers offerings for the NVIDIA Cloud Partner ecosystem and manages the full AI infrastructure lifecycle, from bare metal to deployed models.
Built for What Comes Next
What’s ahead is even more exciting. As teams look to scale AI more confidently, securely, and quickly, our roadmap for k0rdent is about solving the hard problems that stand in their way.
Here’s what we’re focusing on in the year ahead:
Improved composability: Continuing to modularize our stack with plug-and-play components and curated partner integrations from the growing k0rdent ecosystem
Simpler AI lifecycle management: Automating more of the AI lifecycle, from model updates to production rollout, so teams spend less time babysitting pipelines.
Smarter self-service: Making environment provisioning even more intuitive for developers, using policy-aware templates that ensure automatic compliance with enterprise standards
Advanced GPU cost tracking and capacity planning: Improving observability and forecasting tools to help teams right-size and allocate AI infrastructure more effectively
Expanding AIOps capabilities: Enabling smarter monitoring, alerting, and real-time suggestions that help teams respond before issues impact users.
Our Challenger placement reflects real movement in Mirantis’ strategic vision and execution, as we rise to meet the demands of the rapidly changing market. As container platforms evolve to serve AI, we’re building the infrastructure customers need to stay ahead.
